new forum
Re: new forum
I'm starting to get used to it.
I think the BMW motorcycles section should be trimmed down to only 3 categories:
Post 70 airheads, pre-70 airheads and 'other'
The amount of posts so far reflect that this would simply un-clutter the opening 'Board index' page.
Also, MOTORCYCLING and OPEN ROAD could be combined in to one.
IMHO -The PICTURES section should display only pics, with maybe a short title, no discussions.
Sort of like when you do a google image search.
Every pic from the other sections should automatically go there.
Clicking on a pic could take you to the discussion where it originated.
This would be great for people who are new to the forum and just want to browse images to see what's going on here.

The old forum was a fantastic site! The new one does give more options for posting other media. IMO using as many mediums to communicate and share ideas is a good thing.

Hang in there Ron. As you have possibly noted, I too have viewed the new forum through a curmugeon's eyes. You too will get used to it and find it worth while.
Plus, a certain nameless jerk has quit posting here. That alone has made Boxerworks, no matter what the software format, a much more appealing place to go.
Besides, where else can you go to talk to us?

Re: new forum
Thanks for the feedback guys. When we updated/upgraded I did add a bunch of content. I don't want to dilute the spirit of the old forum but keep in mind this....the users(YOU) were and are what makes this place so cool.
So...to address some of the point y'all made.
Ron, when you say simple just give the new forum a chance. It is WAY simpler than before. If you want to share a picture or post a link etc now its very simple for you to do that. The old forum required some knowledge of HTML or other trickery to pull it off. remember the first time somebody made an actual pic show up in a post on the old forum? it caused quite a stir. now its just a matter of clicking the right thingie...
GSPD, I started The Open Road as an experiment. I have delusions of grandeur....as in I wanna create a websight about driving, speeding and changing the completely screwed system that controls the highway system in America...and I consider myself a professional speeder and I want to create a cult of pro speeders to compare idea's & maybe start a rolling revolution. so to answer your question the Open road will likely get absorbed or moved off to another sight all together. BUTT as with a few other forums I added many of the users here spend quite a bit of time driving in cars and I thought it would be a place to take not necessarily motorcycle related discussions to.
The Pictures forum is a place I want to use to pull pic's from & create a kick butt slide show. the comments are sometimes funny othertimes....? but yes I think we should focus on the images in that forum.
Ken & ZM? y'all are spot on.
Thanks!
