Fork caps

still looking for missing items for my 74 R90/6. Can anyone advise how long the caps were the same, as I have found a set on fleabay, from a later 70s model and need to know if they will work. Right now it has a recessed nut in the top clamp with a smaller female thread in the center. Checked MaxBMW fiche, they mentioned something about their replacement chrome caps not fitting the older models, so that is what started this concern.

They changed in 1978...the later style have an 8mm female thread (for the filler cap)...the earlier style has a much bigger fill hole/female threads. If you can post a picture, they're pretty easy to differentiate.

I have both styles if the auction doesn't work out.
