Yikes. I can't imagine how you do that, less you flip the bike, or have two portly passengers. I take it FH would have been solo.

Single shock model, he came over a small bridge with a rise in it. According to witnesses, when he hit the low part at the other side of the bridge the bolt broke and the rear tire went right up into the seat and launched him at speed. He never knew what happened. Doesn't look like it was riding style in this case (although past stress on the bolt may have contributed), just metal fatigue.
I'm liking dual shocks a lot better now.
