Re: How (or not) to drop it
That's an interesting video, and unfortunately my experience agrees with the two of them.
Our circumstances are a bit different too. They ride on a racing surface, with known corners and good vision.
Us lot ride on public roads, often on a less than optimal surface, and frequently without knowing what's on or around the corner. The obstacles that cause deceleration are everywhere, and rarely include a wall of hay bales, unless they're on the back off a slow moving truck!
The instant the "lose" happens is over in a yoctosecond, but the short period afterwards can sure feel like an eternity. I can remember thinking "tuck arms in, relax" as I felt an airborne turning sensation just before the THUNCK onto the ground. Not a lot of control in there I'm afraid, despite what was going thru my mind. Thank goodness for an underbrush covered downhill landing just beyond the downed tree that I sailed over!

I don't have the link anymore, but saw a helicopter shot of someone crashing at high speed on the mountain part of the IOM : TT , I don't think that the guy could have survived, not good

I think you are talking about this clip of Conor Cummings crash, and he did survive! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sL8YXQDLzVcchasbmw wrote:I don't have the link anymore, but saw a helicopter shot of someone crashing at high speed on the mountain part of the IOM : TT , I don't think that the guy could have survived, not good
