Absolutely nothing is done to treat the water other than to circulate it with a low power pump.
Not many people can grasp the concept.
When I tell some people they are completely chemical free, they say "Oh, it's salt then is it?"
I have also experienced goldfish breeding like rabbits, and growing quite large!
This is really intriquing what you're doing. We have a friends who both converted from "chemiclly enriched" pools to "salt water" pool system but too me, its still, "chemically enriched" (clorine/bromine or salt) vs "natural".
Jeff, so there is no external filtering system, just the circulation that keeps pool balanced or clean then. This is much like my old pond then...I had a slow spring feeding the ponding with outflow (or overflow) at other end. In other words, the water woould be constanly turning over I guess to keep fresh. In the heat of the summer sometimes the "flow" slowed to a tricle or even stopped as the spring dried up for a while that was the only time we then had possibility of algae bloom but was no big deal.
I guess with water in one of your "natural" pools, there would be enough aeration etc to keep the water stable?
Are these "natural" pools large compared to say average 16x32 pool or can they be any size you want to make them? Does size then matter at all? My old pond was big...about 1/2 acre and about 14' deep in middle.
I was always fascinated by the old pond and how it remained so stable.
Your pools look fantastic in terms of a desinger's eye and the fact that there "natual" is truly incredible. This should be the new way of doing pools!
