Some years ago was a post here of a airhead cafe racer being pieced together in a Japanese apartment. There was quite a photo log of the journey. Can't seem to find it on-line.

Good to know there are a few air heads out there that are a little closer to me in the s/e of melbourne than the USA. I forked out $50 for an air heads membership and all I can do is read about stuff in airmail that is happening on the other side of the world.

I Joined the local BMW club so that I could get 'beryl' (dad's R65) on club rego and they have been really good with teaching me how to service the beast, still my mechanical knowledge is pretty basic. Good time to learn I reckon.

Im impressed with beryl, I put a set of progressive springs in the front and a new suspension unit form munich motorcycles in WA and she handles really sweet. I have 'bitched' many a 750 and a couple of litre bikes as well because of the way she holds speed in the corners. Having a fast bike is one thing, but it all comes down to the 'nut behind the handlebars'.

as far as the nick goes..... yeah, I did the whole coma thing before molly meldrum made it fashionable. 24/10/10 I highsided my 2008SE ZX14 and flew head first into a tree. I broke 3 in my neck, 6 in my spine, 6 ribs, sternum and right collar bone in addition to the 2 brain bleeds I got from the impact. I was out for a week, spent another in hospital before I was sent out to a rehab hospital for 4 weeks where I still go as an outpatient 3 days a week. I got my licence back last october....... but was riding a bit before that.....

Still love bikes, still prefer to ride than drive.

Well CB, we do like people who do things well. You sure as hell did that.

Glad you're still with us to play with old bm's.

As Airbear has said, there's 6 or 8 or 10 of us here in Aus that get together every so often......good fun.
Here on the forum you will find a lot of willing help, a good knowledge base and a fair bit of fun.

If you know how to post pictures, it can make things a lot easier for others to help out.

Welcome btw,

I live not too far from Airbear at Albury.

Come to think of it, I've never known anyone who came back alive from trying it....
A mate of mine used to race H2 & H3's in Canada (eh?) and he survived...... One of the few from what I hear.

shit load of power, poor brakes, whippy frame....... thems were the days, when men were men and sheep were nervous.

Well that's a life experience that all of us would only want to read about. Damn good thing to be back on the bike.
I'm in Croydon...can't be too far away if you need a hand with something. I'm not a mechanic, but there are other ways to help sometimes.

Sweet looking machine CB
There's a lot of work in front of you.

Is that an oil filter at the rear of the starter cover for catching blow by?
