I'm back with a new (to me) ride.

This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

I'm back with a new (to me) ride.

Post by Garnet »

I have been absent for awhile. Recently because of the glitches that where happening on the board ( I had 2 PCs wiped at work) but mainly because I have been busy with my new ride.

It's from the late 90's and is multi cylinder, water cooled and fuel injected. It weighs a lot and feels a bit top heavy. It's great in a straight line but wallowed in the corners and on rough roads, some new shocks helped a bunch. It also gets better mileage than I was expecting.

My wife finds it very comfy and is much happier coming on road trips and camping with me.

Wives can be pretty smart, you know. Looks comfy. Hang a Trail 90 on the back. Or better yet, two bicycles, eh Chu?

Don't think you can get Metzelers to fit that. :P
I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.

Very sweet looking rig. Roof windows, side awning, and everthang. I always thought that would be the way to go - - compact, totally self-contained, decent gas mileage.

Sweet Garnet...you can always tow the 2 wheels with that... :o

My wife prefers them to the pillion...

Got an old 87 Dodge conversion van after we sold the big, honkin' RV gas guzzler this summer...so far lotsa fun for us and I tow either the boat or the bike...just trying to figure out how to do both!

Hey, where are the airheads out here??? We're in Vancouver now visiting daughter #2 and delivering a car to our friends on Salt Spring...havn't seen any yet...just lots of high tech Beemers, Ducs and Triumphs as well as good old cruisers. Drive down the Yellowhead from Jasper then 99 was fantastic as usual...wish I had the 2 wheels for that run!

Maybe the ol' school stuff is on the Island...I'll be looking :ugeek:

Thanks for the encouragment guys. (My spelling hasn't improved.)

Hey Moosehead, if your going to be on Saltspring for a few days, call me 250-361-9508. Maybe I can make a day trip over there. The airheads really started disappearing out here about 10 years back. I have been trying hard to collect as many as I can save from the wreckers, but I have been put on a strict limit by my recent unemployment early retirement.

That's quite the faring. I'm surprised an R20 could push it.

Thanks Garnet, and ZM too...for sharing your contact info for meet/possible ride?..Our timing for Salt Spring is tight but maybe we can work something out. Monday is only full day on the Island...we ferry over to Nanaimo Fri, then heading to Tofino for Fri/Sat then back to Salt Spring for Sunday eve after dropping our daughter and friend off at Nanaimo ferry (they gotta work Monday poor souls)...so my friend is trying to get me a ride for Monday and if that works then perhaps we can meet/ride Monday on the big Island...how about I'll call you if its a go for Monday (Sept 23)...we're heading back from SSI early Tues to catch the train  (VIA RAIL) back to Ontari ar io..ho ho...should be a trip I say!

Like the Pleasure Way...very nice...looked at them when we dumped the old gas guzzling RV...
