

Not an actual lighthouse--but a real Fresnel lens. The Coast Guard changed the technology in the Cape Mendocino lighthouse years ago and someone in the nearest town ("Hey! Ya want this?") scooped it up.
Fast forward to a couple years ago and the CG is all, "Well, we didn't mean to give it away. You need to take better care of it. It can't stay there" The result is that it is being disassembled this weekend and stored until a proper museum space can be built for it. Unless, of course, the CG can find an illuminating use for it.
