I had an epic solo ride. 7 days - 2600 Miles from Alameda to Kalispell MT. Alameda to Klamath Falls to Pendleton to Kalispell. On the return to Arco via the Bitterroot 93 then passed the Craters of the Moon National Monument for a hike, Twin Falls for a photo op and Winnamucca. A bolt down to Reno then a spirited ride on 88 to Jackson then home . So many great roads. Highway 97, 12, 26 (John Day Highway) and 395, St. Joe's between St. Maries & St. Regis Mt. (was a great highlight) Last 10 miles on gravelly roads. I averaged 400 miles a day getting about 48 mpg. When i was on it...42. The bike developed a wobble somewhere on 93 which made for a questionable return but did it anyway. I suffered lots of smoke from the fires, heat, a few rain showers, hail and light snow flurry in a 7200' mountain pass during the early evening heading to a night stop 75 miles away. It was the sample of the Lewis and Clark trail I had always wanted to ride and experience. I did!
I learned that riding solo had some advantages. One of them was riding at your time, own speed, and time to think. The tech day that a great BMW airhead from Kalispell threw was great. Was glad to get home to be with my wife and boy who missed me. Even was able to work today too.

I always brake in corners and think how I am going to get home if I really mess up. When I get home, I wished that I hadn't used my brakes and should have ridden a bit further.
