Rebuild will now have to stop at this point as I have to return to work in the NT.
Home again in about 6 months.

Looks like you've been wasting a lot of time doing it right. If you'd just slopped it up a bit, you'd be done already!

Nice mufflers! ;) Wrong sided though?

The bike looks a treat.

Mufflers look OK to me...about the same as mine on my /7...just did a topend and had all that stuff off. Should pass just under the rear footpeg.

They look a bit "upswept" to me. Fine if deliberate, but might not work with panniers and the indent for easy axle access is missing.

Yes, SteveD they are on the correct side as the right muffler
has the dimple to clear the foot brake pedal.
The original rusty chrome pipe on the left had to be totally removed
to allow the axle to be pulled. They are upswept more than the original
pipes and come very close to allowing axle removal. The dimple seems to allow
(on the back as mounted) clearance to axle - bottom shockie bolt.
There is some slight amount of up/down adjustment as they attach to the
last few inches of the headers; but not a lot. The original headers looked
like crap but were stainless.
They are Keihan Stainless (secondhand - at a good price) worth mucking around
a bit to get them right. I suspect that they are not quite anatomically correct
for this bike.
I have held the Krauser racks (with bag inserted) in the correct
position and they would appear to clear.
There is basically no bag protruding below the racks.
Also recently acquired a matching Krauser luggage rack.
