Re: The Official Thread for the May 2013 Boxerworks Rally
The past few days....I've put on two new tires on old Eddie (/7), along with all gear/engine oil changed. Threw in a fresh set of points to boot. Was ready to start loading the gear on the bike tonight but still have two and a half weeks to go. Guess I could wait a bit on that part so not to be riding all over town with tent, sleeping bag, pots/pans tied on.
Will spend a evening looking over and checking for loose bolts and whatever, and putting together spare parts and nick-nack stuff. Funny thing...of all the years and times I've had along spare parts, I've never had to use them while on the road......the spare stuff is still coming along.

I'm impressed Randy. That degree of preparation is admirably prudent. But more than the planning required I admire your willingness, perhaps even eagerness, to do it.dwerbil wrote:The past few days....I've put on two new tires on old Eddie (/7), along with all gear/engine oil changed. If I were riding an airhead (and I would be) I'd sure want to rice alongside you!

I faced the same dilemma Randy when preparing for the recent Oz Boxerworks run.dwerbil wrote: Funny thing...of all the years and times I've had along spare parts, I've never had to use them while on the road......the spare stuff is still coming along.
Standing in front of my cupboard of spares, wondering what to take. A bean can? A coil? A diaphragm? Ignition module? Rotor?
I finally decided on................closing the cupboard door.

Not anytime soon, Richard. Meaning what, I don't know. Maybe sometime. Next time. Some other time. Possibly later too. Down the road, maybe. Yeah.richard t wrote:

Guess I need to get it running sometime.
