This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

That seems pretty dear alright, even by Australian standards. Nice bike though.

Well used examples have been offered up for $7000 recently, and a couple in shops are about that.

Two have sold on ebay in the last month. One for $6500 and the second one for $4150

It's mildly stupid high, but, if it's Concours correct, it's not too terribly out of line. Few of us even have the desire to own a /5 that looks like it left the showroom floor yesterday, but there are those who will pay the big bucks for that.

I will confess to a desire for a R75/5 that looks like it might have had normal care for a couple years. That goes for around $5k in U.S. dollars.

There was a guy on this island selling a flawless minty fresh R75/5 for $5500 years ago. I didn't have that much money to spend at the time, and he said, "You don't want this bike. You'd spend all your time just polishing it." I had to agree...

Wow - I could almost get back the money I have spent on my R90. Mine doesn't look so nice and it leaks oil like the Exxon Valdeze, but it runs pretty good. It is a little depressing how nice a five-year-old bike I could have for what I have spent on my 38 year old Airhead, but then I wouldn't have had all that fun working on it and learning how to adjust valves and the like. Who needs brakes and a little vibration keeps the kidneys working right.
