Im also in need of new stanchions for my '82 RS... but here in OZ.
I was quoted $1300ea for new/genuine & $300ea for spanish ones.

Ther ware various companies in the uk who will straighten, rechrome and grind to size fork stanchions. cost is around £80 per tube.

I buoght a new pair for £199 delivered with tax from Wemoto in the UK. Made by the same company that supplies the Italien made ones to Motobins and someone told me that Wemoto will send abroad. Their website is wrong in that it identifies the stanchions that you need from 1977-1980, whereas they will fit from 1970 I believe.
