Does anyone have a recommendation for a good mail-order parts source on the west coast? I ordered everything from Capital Cycle while living in Minneapolis for 20 years, but now that I'm in northern California, waiting for parts to come from DC isn't practical.

Hmmm...I was going to suggest Motobins, but I guess that wouldn't work either!! Is the wait time really that big of a deal? If you have a source, you trust them, they know you...isn't that worth something? Just wondering.

Depending on the parts, Ted Porter at the Beemershop is NorCal. If you're near a dealer, you can get parts anytime...unless you're having to wait for them to get the parts in...which is pretty typical.

A&S in Sacramento has a pretty good web store (although their online fiche only goes back through /5 - damn them).

Ted Porter is who I get parts from. My local dealer (closing this month, anyway) always had to order what I wanted and it took up to two weeks to get parts. Ted has always had my parts in stock and I generally get them a day or two after I call.

I get my Triumph parts from somebody down there, too, Rabers. They are also really well stocked and fast shippers.

Motobins and Hucky's are my preferred sources with Motobins being way cheaper and delivering faster to Canada. I have used Hucky's on a US address and man, is he fast ... 2 days from his place to Buffalo, NY! So, there you have it ...

I had some terrible experiences with motobins many years ago and stopped using them ever since.
Max BMW has been amazing. + they give you M&M's with each order!
If you have any questions, Rusty or Drew are fairly quick with an answer.
I wasn't sure which neutral switch I needed and left a message with Rusty. A few hours later, he found my email in his system and sent me all sorts of photos with part numbers and such. Good Customer service is rare these days so when i find a company that appreciates their customers, i stick with them.

I've had good luck with Hucky, and I'm also in NorCal.

If I only need one little thing, I've had good luck with my local BMW CAR dealer. I call in with the part number, and the parts guy says, "Hold on a sec, let me type this in." A minute or so later, if he describes what I'm looking for, he's made the sale. Little stupid things, like the center valve cover nut or an oil filter. It arrives in the next day or so, and while I am paying MSRP + tax, there's no shipping charge. For me, the car dealer is 5 miles away, and the nearest bike dealer is >200 miles away.

Is there a link or list anywhere of air cooled parts/ accessory vendors? I'm familiar with Huckys and dealerships but would like to shop around for products and prices for my /5. I just don't know who is out there other than googling /5 parts. I did find my wheel bearings at Carquest today for $20, which was a nice find.

I used to buy parts from a car/bike BMW dealer in virginia. i thought it was web parts. I can't remember the name of the dealership, but I can't find them anymore. It's a bummer. They had the best deals on filters and gaskets and rings and consumables. Oh, I found it. Hammersley. 404 not found.

The last time I was at repsycle, they told me they had to order oil and air filters for my bike.

What the hell? My /5s are OLD now?!?!
