James, both Motobins and Motoworks ship to the U.S. now, though shipping a gear box may be spendy.

I'll look into it furthur, but I thought I saw on both of their websites that reconditioned gearboxes were only availble to be shipped to the U.K. I even went so far as to check out to try to calculate shipping with one of them, can't remember which. After I entered my shipping address, the gear box was removed from my shopping cart. I seem to remember seeing something about insurance and shipping used parts overseas... Funny thing is the core deposit was still there.

Motorworks will ship a box to OZ and to Spain, but dont know about the US.
They reply to their emails too!!!!

Motobins no longer break bikes or sell second hand parts,so they may have trouble sourcing a box if you cant supply one to be rebuilt
