SIG,
We are about the same size ( I mean in height ) as I have aged I am now 5' 13" instead of 5' 14"
with the same inseam as you. Size wise you should ride one and see how comfortable they are.
Also, dont let the fugly looks of a GS deter you. First off, very few get stolen due to this fact.
I have only had 2 Oil heads. A GS and a GSA both 1150's. Had both at the
same time. The GSA became the one to keep for me. The biggest problem if you own a GS is if
your a washohlic and need your bike looking pretty all the time? You will have to go to the gspd show,
shine and ride the hell out of it clinic. I like the 1200 better for a one up bike. Just as many others
I am sitting tight on a new bike for awhile. Even tho I have passed up some KILLER deals on some
used UBER low mile 1200's of late.

More importantly, it's a lot better bike - substantially more power, much smoother, zero surging issues, and it lost a ton of weight. It's a real hotrod. I've ridden the R1200R, and it's a wonderful bike that fits me absolutely perfectly.Steve in Golden wrote: IMO the R1200R is even better looking. Probably has the same legroom issue though, and they sure are proud of the new bikes down at the local BMW boutique. 15 grand for a new R1200R, that will severely depreciate the second you ride it off the lot. Sure would be fun though, if I could solve the legroom and the financial hurdles.
The bad news (for you): I'm 5'-7" with a 29" inseam.

Steve, there has been a major shift in the economy. Nobody needs a BMW motorcycle, we just "want them" and that it that. People are afraid and are starting to save. Imagine that, Americans saving money? What nonsense!
This is totally the wrong time of year to sell. In a month or so it will be time to buy, not not to sell. Sell in March-June and buy in Nov-Feb. Have cash on hand and people will beg you to buy. Even in the good times I was able to buy for very cheap and ride it a year and sell for a profit. Not a single BMW (of hundreds) has cost me a single cent for ownership. Very few were a wash and the rest were profit.
I love being paid to ride a BMW motorcycle.

Indeed. People would be much better off buying and saving old Airheads!

Gee sorry SIGSteve in Golden wrote:
"Just another bike?" Sniff. Don't say that too loud, it might hear you. It's a legendary BMW, its got heart, its got soul. It's more than the sum of its parts.
To make it up to you I'll give you $3500 cash (Canadian ) but you have to deliver it to the ferry dock in Port Angeles WA.
I await your reply (which I'm sure will include both sex AND travel).
