A splendid weekend, chaps.
Here's the 'stealth' undercover parking area at the back of the hut.
And a firewood pixie, obviously happy with progress.
And the view from Scammel's Lookout, just up the hill.
Thanks all, for great company and fine bullshitting.
Grant, I'm glad your first decent ride on the luxury tourer has inspired you.
We'll be expecting your presence at future gatherings.

Gday Sibbo, that's George of Bethangas DRZ400. He likes it very much. He only came up for a quick sammich and to help collect some firewood and a ride up to Geehi Dam with me.Sibbo wrote: What is the trail bike in the photo Charlie ?

Heading North I also had a great run home. Got stuck behind a boat all the way to Khancoban so decided the tight and twisties were not for me and went past the turn off to Cabramurra. I was glad though as I had the road pretty much to myself til Tumut, the countryside was shining and the cows were happy in the deep grass and it was a perfect temperature for riding and riding. 9 hours again including some shut-eye. No adventures or dramas retracing my route home, though I must tell Charlie that not only did I go through Gumble and Cumnock but Cumboogle as well. I hope they grow into metropolis' one day just so people talk about them a lot.
This was on the way down, Southern Cross Lookout. Such a perfect sky, gentle breeze, nothing and no-one about. I love this mountain country!

And from Sunday's ride with George to the spectacular Geehi Dam. This is the high country it is set in, looking off the wall.
And looking the other way, we were met with this amazing site.
Its a spillway, called I later learn a 'Glory Hole'. An immense upturned bell. Note the tiny figures. We went over to chat. They were abseiling the 120 metres to the bottom. They offered us a go in all seriousness, but we, in all seriousness, declined. Given the beautiful pert young women who were just preparing for their descent it was hard to think of a pride saving excuse, so we just resorted to honesty and told them we were too afraid.
