That's about what happened with mine...Weeped for a couple of years, then upon starting up one day after sitting nearly dormant for 2 months...OIL all over the place.
BUT, it (the 78 R100s) was in my garage!!
Old seal hard as old-timey plastic.
Airhead Engine/Tranny seal exploded and oil spilling...!
