Should be more like this.

No offence to anyone I just think it's a good fairing. Wish I still had it.

Well, I'm drooling over the 2002. I used to own a couple many years ago. What a fun car to drive!

According to the blurb on that page, the car was a 1502 but same thing really. I dug it too, as my parents bought a brand-new 1971 1600 while on vacation in Europe. They'd intended to get a Super Beetle at first but the exchange-rate was more favourable than they'd expected. I remember going with them to pick the car up at the port in Detroit (we lived in MI back then) after they got home from the trip. A year later we moved to Tuscaloosa AL, where our car was the first BMW car in town. Nobody in Tuscaloosa had even HEARD of BMW in those days, except for a guy my dad worked with at the state hospital who rode one, although I'm not sure if he had the bike before we moved there or not. I don't remember meeting him until into the /6 era and I was still a really wee lad then. I do remember it being a dark-red that I've seen on some /6es, and I also remember my mom pointing it out to me and telling me that it was a BMW just like our car was, which I remember thinking was pretty cool.
Back to the car, I've always thought it would be cool to have a 2002 but I doubt I ever will, since I doubt I'll ever be able to afford more than one vehicular-toy at a time and the two-wheeled type is a bit more of a priority.
