is there a recommendation out there for folks who do repairs on original 1974 R90s horns? Mine is in need of a rebuild and I can handle most things mechanical, but removal/installation of the rivets might cause some issues with the final appearance and don't want to risk that.
thanks in advance,

Re: R90s horn repair
Rick, At the risk of sounding like a jerk, I'd suggest purchasing two horns to replace the single on the R90S. This will require the addition of a relay in the circuit. I've done this on my '75 R90S because two "Fiamm like" horns are inexpensive and two horns are much louder than the single OEM horn on the R90S. By inexpensive, I've found two new horns for $35 in the USA.
I've restored my R90S front to back and I'm now ready for paint. If you are working to keep your R90S pristine stock, you know that the original R90S horn had a chrome center plate where the other R90/6's had black paint. I think this plate is riveted so while tricky, I think if the internals of the horn are damaged, you may want to retain that fancy chome plate and install it on a new stock (not a Fiamm) horn.
