1956 Matchless 500cc

My older brother had one of these back in '69. Some guy owed him 100 bucks and he took this in trade. David was a senior in high school at the time, I was in 9th grade. The bike didn't run and had been painted a Krylon spray can royal blue. We didn't know what we had. And certainly didn't know about getting it running.
We'd kick and kick that thing. I banged up my ankle a couple times with the kickstarter. Tried push starting to no avail. It did cough and sputter a time or two while pushing it.
Am sure it had a compression release but what did we know about it.
It sat outside for several more months then he sold it for a 100 bucks.

I like how he is using Craigs List to advertise his eBay advertisment!

Wow - no reserve, only 14 hours to go, and he only has one bid on it! $5500!
