Pete's on tour on his /5. Should be North Coast NSW about now. Keep an eye out for him she'llbe
He stayed at my place over the weekend. It was great to catch up.
On Sunday we swapped bikes and went for a ride on some backroads.
Thrilling to have my first ride on a /5. Loved the motor and the 4 speed was much more enjoyable than I thought it would be. Reminded me of driving a 1950s beetle. My R100 feels strong but coarse in comparison.
That front drum scared the bejesus out of me though. It works but doesn't feel like its ever going to.
Pics later. Its too tricky posting from the phone.

Gidday Fellas,
Sounds like a good trip he'll have Mal, some spare time, a full tank of go juice and no map to follow, yes I'm jealous

UpNorth is the way to go for Victorians in the bleaker periods.
Have a good one, Pete. Enjoy those lovely twisty northern roads and give Slashie a pat from me.

Just spoke to Pete. He has made to a mate's place in Lismore. Front wheel bearing may be on the way out. Apart from that alles gut.
Re: R75/5 on tour
A visit to Michael up the road at Lillian Rock will have that sorted. She'llbe to the bat phone!
Then there is a classic bike show on Sunday at Canungra Showground, just up the road.

Ah, had that little trouble in twenty-oh-nine in Murwillumbah. Had to order and wait for an overnight delivery from somewhere else to buy overpriced bearings, then find a bit of beer can to make a shim to set the correct preload.Mal S7 wrote:Just spoke to Pete. Ah, the joys of the open road. Pete, I trust you are having fun - keep up the good work.
