My first thought too. Even if you loaded it with bulky but very light items, aerodynamically it's horrible.

Wish I could find the BMWMOA magazine issue that had a several page photo/write-up from a guy who traveled across
Australia. Article may have been from the 1980's. This character had welded a small angle iron frame all around his R90(?) and riveted web press aluminum sheets to "keep the sand off the bike and gear". You can imagine it looked atrocious.

I cannot understand how one can enjoy riding a motorcycle loaded down with that much crap.
If you want the feel of wind in your face, just cut the top off an old toyota pickup, load all your
stuff in the bed and head on down the road, it'l handle better and be more reliable, ;)
