I run these on my R100S:
Lets face it, these bikes only put out 70 hp and the tire technology has come a long way. I find them very neutral, and predictable. Look right too. You're not going to keep up with a garden variety 600cc sport bike with an equal rider anyway. At least not one made in this century.

Those 600's can be a pain in the springtime, hard to tell the difference between them and grasshoppers splattered on my fairing.
