Master Cylinder Rebuild
Master Cylinder Rebuild
Doing an annual service on Jake, a '75R90/6 today, and while draining the tank and inspecting, I discovered that the master cylinder has a slight leak. It isn't too bad just yet but has slightly damaged some of the paint on the back bone of the frame. Time to refit the m/c, so I ordered the kit from Bob's BMW. Any special details of which to be aware when I repair the m/c? Mike
Re: Master Cylinder Rebuild
when I've rebuilt these, I hone the bore with one of these...

When refilling the master, you may find you need to keep the "hose clamp" off the master so you can tilt it and get the air out of the front of the master, where the brake light switch is. Or keep the switch loose to bleed that area as well.

That flex hone looks pretty good and durable. Your M/C is a 14mm unit so if that size doesn't work I have used this style with good success, on 14mm, and 16mm M/C.
