After reading the post on headlight power and the fact that I have wondered about going to a LED headlight I did some fishin and ordered this. Says if is for a R90. We will see if it fits and works. I will follow up and let ya all know.

I've tried a few H4 replacement LED bulbs and none were better than the halogen they were replacing.
most were worse.
That was a few years ago, maybe they've improved since.

There are tons of LED 7" sealed beams available that can be macGuyver'd to fit your bike.
The more expensive ones are more likely to have a more precise beam pattern and DOT certification.
but even the cheap ones are a huge improvement over incandescent, and they all use way less power.

Curious that the led bulb draws only 1.25amps and yet it stated to be "canbus compatible" not that you need it to be. It's usually best to avoid canbus compatible bulbs as they incorporate a wasteful load resistor. Perhaps they supply the load resistor separately which you can leave out.

I got a Cyclops led replacement for my R100. Installation was easy and much more light. My voltmeter is very happy now, and I'm not worried about running a heated jacket. For me it was a good mod.

Got the new LED headlight bulb installed, It's a tight fit, had to move some stuff around in the bucket. MUCH MUCH more light now. It's a crisp white light (6500K) compared to the old h4 one. I'm kind of concerned about the heat generated on the heat sink. Would it be enough to melt any wires that may be touching it?

The one I installed has a fan on the back of the led bulb. I just made sure that nothing touched the unit using zip ties. I've had no problem. The halogen bulbs get quite hot. I would think the LED would be cooler. These type of bulbs are designed to replace bulbs in cars, which are in tight spaces.

I have to say I would be very wary about that. High output LEDs don't produce as much heat as the Halogen equivalent but they do still get hot and where, with a halogen, most of the heat is dissipated through the envelope, with a LED, it appears through the heat sink at the rear of the unit, right where it will be close to the wiring. Don't know what you can do about it except make sure the wires aren't against the hot metal...

I'm going to do some maintenance soon, I'll check in my headlight shell to see how things are and I'll report. On my bike, headlight is always on so it should be a good test. The improvements in charging and light output have been excellent.
