Don't you hate it when......

Post by Jeff in W.C. »

Don't you hate it when you put something in a safe place and years later you can't find it. Somewhere in my garage is a spare rotor and rotor removal bolt (they are together in the space place, but noooooooooo--I can't find them to save my life. And, the worse part of all of this....

It's all user error. I have no one else to point the finger at other than myself. Arrgh.

Perhaps, it's time to look for something non motorcycle related. Then, I may come across it.

OK, I feel a little better ranting about this. Well, at least until I go looking for it again. It's there someplace.

I always find long lost items immediately after the charges for new ones go through on my credit card .

I lost a matching set of Colt derringers, given to me by my mom before she died, to be given to my cousin. I'm sure I hid it somewhere real good, sigh. In fact it should be in this library room. My mom had given them to my uncle for his high school graduation present, hence why it was supposed to go to my cousin.

yep, I have done the same thing only to find it a few years later by accident. Now I have started indicating what is in a box, like BMW parts, Jaguar parts and so on, helps narrowing search when I am looking for something.

Taking a pic (wide shot) where you stored it, can save a lot of time

I have a box labeled 'lost masonry tools' and another box marked 'masonry tools'. The second box contains the same tools as the first box that I could not find when I needed them.

Well, persistence paid off. I found the rotor, spare diode board and a new unused voltage regulator. They were in a small plastic bucket that looked like rags, but only the top portion was rags.

Note to self......do better next time when I put things up.
