Gallery of Leaks (dirty pictues)

These pictures were taken after a 1,550 mile ride in dusty west texas. I would really like to get your thoughts on the cause and the fix. The bike is a 1975 R90/6
There are ten pictures labled Leak 1 through Leak 10. If you can comment on them, please don't hit the quote button just relply and say something like Leak X is the dooflotcher and you need a new crushwasher. And so on.

Leak 1 - clean up the threads, new crush washer...don't tighten too much. Also, don't overfill.
Leak 2 and 9 and possibly 8 - either rear main seal or tranny input seal. Will need to pull the tranny to see what's leaking. What's on the "shelf" below the tranny? That would be the first thing to check.
Leaks 3-5, and 10 - looks like the cylinder base needs to be resealed.
Leaks 6 and 7 - either pushrod tube seals or oil switch. You should clean this area up real well and blow baby powder over the area. Then take a short ride and check for oil runs within say 5 miles...check again after 10-15 miles. That will let you know where it's coming from.

If there is not a puddle of oil on the shelf, there is a chance that the breather tube has a crack in it, or is not clamped tight to the breather and it is dripping inside the starter cover/airbox and being flung around by the flywheel. My winter beater /5 is doing that very thing cuze I'm to
cheap lazy to change the hose which is NLA.

Got it. Also, I think the front seal is leaking the oil from the drive shaft causing the overfill. At least on privious checks, the shaft was low on oil. I have not cleaned it up and checked it yet after this trip.

The push rod seals were replaced three years ago. I suppose they could have been bad. There is another active thread that talks about tightning them with a home made tool. Do you recommend that?
Lastly - San Antonio is right up the road from Austin. I hope you will come down for some portion of the Forum Rally here May 12 - 16

Do the baby powder check before you attempt any kind of fix. No sense whacking on something that doesn't need it.

Brad, if you fix all that I ain't coming to the rally, because I will feel really inadequate.
I am trying to get a 2-stroke Detroit Diesel powered vehicle. Those are supposed to leak.
Oh, and I think Kurt lives in the other S.A.

I don't understand the concern, or question. I would clean it up and ride it 100 miles to see what may be actually leaking. You may have some oil transfer to the FD, but that is the only thing that could be a problem in the future.
Yes, it is possible to make it not leak. You will be very busy with constant disassembly and sealing up stuff. Ride it and be happy. you made it back.

This is the real answer and has been for awhile - but just in case I ever met GPSD, I would like to slow some of them down.
I think I forgot to ask earlier - How does one reseal the jugs where they meet the case. Early 75, no gasket and no o-ring, just a metal shim.

Very clean surface. Thin application of Drei-bond, aka Threebond, Yamabond.....

I will plan on seeing you at the rally. I might slow some of the leaks down a little, but I don't think I can fix them all on my budget.
