/5 hex engine plug removal?

I have a /5 block completely disassembled. I'm going to paint the case with a high heat engine enamel. I am wondering if i should remove the hex head engine plugs in the case?
I have seen them weep oil before and worry that i will be cracking a seal that may never be as tight again.
Should i just leave them in to be safe?

You have seen them weep on other motors, or this one? If you have seen them weep on this motor, absolutely pull them. If not, it's a harder question, and subject to personal views of what the best options are.

They can be VERY hard to remove. If it's not leaking now after 40 years in use, they are probably pretty well sealed.

I've never seen this engine run. It was a barn find... so i guess i should leave them in and see. They weeped a bit on my 77 R100S. i was bummed after doing an entire engine rebuild...
