Tuning Advice

Post by michael »

I have installed the rebuilt heads on my 78 R100/7 and put about 1k on it since then. Having trouble getting it to run right. Did the 1k valve adjust/check last night and all was well there. The left side plug was ok, a nice coffie color with just a slight bit of black fuzz. The left side has me pusseled. I don't have a pic but it looked almost brand new. Just an ever so slight coffie color on one side of the ceramic. Could this be that it is not firing at all.

If it is not firing at all, it will shake badly, just pull a plug wire and you will see what happens.

I can't understand your post, as you say the left is good and then bad.

Ah, how I hate being pusseled.

First off, did you put brand new plugs in? That's an important piece to the pussle.

Yes, new spark plugs. Could it be my airhead fires on both cylinders at idle and not at speed? Also got out the dictionary:

Black coffee or coffee with cream ?

Reading plugs ain't what it used to be with leaded gas.
Correctly burning unleaded does not color plugs the same.
Porcelain should be a very light brown almost white.
If the tips of the (center & side) electrodes are grey, the plug is firing.
