Browns side stand install

Post by Zombie Master »

1984 R100S: Ordered one from Bob's at the Redmond rally. Just came in today. Instructions are confusing. It talks about attaching to the foot peg bolt. That makes no sense, on my model the foot peg bolt is directly under the swing arm pivot. There are two attachment holes on the stand. It looks to me that one would attach to the rear frame bolt after relocating the header pipe hanger to the forward hole on the stand.
Can't say that I like the idea of putting any stress on the exhaust system though.

Any thoughts on this install? :)

You surmise correctly. The thing bolts to the rear engine mount bolt, which is where the footpeg bolts on my bike. Hanger is reversed, etc. No undue strain is palced on the exhaust.
