1981 R100RS

One Leaves and one arrives

Shed Find - Has not left the shed in over two Years.

Had to jump start with another battery. Runs well.
Only had it a week. Notes to date.
Mufflers holey - replace
Headers are Stainless Steel - need polishing
Renewed centrestand bushes to make it easier to move around and park.
Gear lever rubber
Front forks leak - seals etc
RHS carby dripping fuel - kits needed - Hoses and Filters
All rotors master, slave cylinders and hoses need renewing/replacing
Rear Konis can be rebuilt.
Handgrips to be replaced.
Check all control cables.
Neutral light non functional.
Tyres are Metzelers nearly new tread - Past their useby date 10 years old - replace.
Engine/Transmission to be removed - minor oil leaks, neutral switch?
Remove tag and repair as necessary wiring harness
Powdercoat frame - stainless bolts
Timing hole rubber plug.
Came with some history, original tools (not Complete)
Ignition keys and fuel cap key.
Original cablelock and key. Owners handbook, parts list, first aid book.
Krauser Panniers - No keys - Difficult or impossible (and Expensive) to find.
All the engine alloy parts have a coat of white corrosion - to be removed

What an excellent motorcycle.
In fact, one of the best ever made.
Not that I'm biased or anything.
+1 nice paint.
Little bit of work and it will look a treat!

Yep. A lot of detail work, but the basic package looks very good.

Hard to tell from the picture...are the front snowflakes of the newer design? The recall for the older style is still in force.

Hi Kurt,

I knew they had trouble with the early Snowflakes.
Don't know the differences between the early and later wheels.

The following marks are on the rim.
