a friend saw a company called Caltric, selling starters for airheads on ebay for just over $100, anybody know anything about them?

Probably Chinese copies of Valeos like these: http://www.euromotoelectrics.com/Search ... st+starter

I've had one for a couple of months now and it seems to be working fine.

Had one on my 1000 cc G/S for 2 1/2 years-80,000 km.

Looks good quality, works perfectly and spins the bike over like a sewing machine even with the smaller G/S battery.

If you are worried give EME the few extra bucks and get a warrenty which means something - he is a good guy to deal with.
