Gidday Fellas

Post by grant81rs »

Gidday Fellas,

yep I am still looking in here from time to time and it's good to keep in touch with a few of you on the phone or via that dreaded site called facebook but any contact is good contact...

I'm glad to read that an aussie ride is on the cards again and that this time the Captains Flat pub will be the lucky recipient of a rowdy, uncouth bunch of blokes with wads of money to spend and bang down on the bar until the wee hours...... ENJOY IT!!

Well I have been busy most Saturdays for nearly 9 months now on my old chevy, and it is coming alone very nicely and we are way ahead of time, I thought this would be a 2 yr gig but now this xmas is my target date to have it registered and on the road, but it is time consuming to say the least and to say that I am enjoying myself is an understatement, the work is fun and my wife and family have been right behind me which has been wonderful...

This is where I am up to now http://montythe1928chevrolet.blogspot.com.au/

I wish you all the best out on the roads and I hope to catch up again one day soon, take care
Cheers, Grant

Howdy Grant.
Those small hurdles just make the accomplishment bigger. looks like you're still
having plenty of fun doing the work too. That's what it's all about in't!
I'm in bodptn right now (beautiful one day....) sitting on our waterfront deck sipping coffee and relaxing as the kids wreak havoc in the pool before a late breakfast. Lifes a bitch sometimes.
Pending weather and the state of the bike, I might be able to ride down for a lunch in the next fortnight or so....I'll let you know. I have a few things I need to do to the bike to keep it on the road before going back to work.
Cheers, Steve

Hey Grant,
I'm actually living vicariously through you. I look forward to reading your weekly progress. I think you're doing a really good job there. Your dad would be proud. I can't wait to see the final product.

G'day Grant, its good to hear you are getting such joy from your project. Best make a show at a oz-boxerworks run when you are done tinkering, I am sure we could build an excuse for a rally around that. Cheers Mal

Gidday fellas,

Many thanks for the lovely replies and I'm glad you like the chevy blog and ramblings about my work in progress..

yes Mal I do plan on getting to a few boxerworks rallies again in the near future in the chevy when it is completed as it will be a daily driver as were my intentions from the get go.....at 45mph and with the wind in my hair I now have heaps of room in the back for a big mother of a comfy warm swag and a decent eski for supplies

Maybe Ole Monty could be made the Oz boxerworks honorary backup support vehicle, but I guess he has to earn his stripes first and prove his reliability on a few runs...

Once again fellas it's great to have a chat and made to feel most welcome back on this forum, as I have literally been lost in my shed most weekends for many months and now I can see the end is not that far ahead in getting out and enjoying this ole set of wheels :)
