I am pleased to report that the 170 mains are the sweet spot. I tried the 160 and got a decrease of power, it felt sluggish so went back to 170 and it runs amazing! Very happy with this conversion. Power band is very broad and where it used to lug out it just pulls. At the higher end of the revs, it has more roll on response. It gives me more confidence in tight curves to know I don't have to down shift to get a hand full. I do need to rebuild the front forks, tho. Any one have performance tips to get more out of the stock set up? Type II i think, with the ATE set up.

I love my Mikuni's too Especally with easy cold starts to ready rideoff times

the ticket here is little piston in the mastercylinders and 40mm calipers
I used a under tank 13 or 14mm master to first single then twin 40"s
the bike could stop on a dime with nickel change with Dual 40 but did well as a Single 40 dime with .01 cent change the best of world feed back operation.
lever tied to bar and gravity bleeding is the only way to get all the air out with a ATE.......

What havwe you used to define the "sweet spot" ?
Dyno testing, O2 readings, or "seat of the pants" ?

seat of the pants. It feels better than the 160 mains. I realize a dyno is really the best way to be accurate. For now this will have to do.

Much to be gained from 'becoming one' with one's seat of the pants, before paying someone for the use of their dyno.
Indisputedly, a dyno rules. But who amongst us can afford to use a dyno often?
I would have more faith in a tuner with a calibrated ass than one who can't perform without a power point.

a good tuner goes through it at differnt levels and checks the plugs the pipes etc
my jetting is correct from idle to full throttle done the ole fashioned way.........................

I am learning a great deal from this. Maybe too much for my own good. Test rides can be telling and expensive.

Go to Ohio Cafe.com jetting info for all tested fittings just be ready to adjust for the BEST OF BEST
