r90/6 aluminum spring covers on a Ikon Shock

I just replaced my factory shocks on my 74 r90/6 with ikons, i really want to keep the factory look. how can i switch over the factory parts to the ikon's. is the factory hole in the covers, larger or smaller then the ikon's

The hole is smaller than required for the IKON (Koni) shock. It can be enlarged with a hole saw, carefully. You'll need a way to hold the cover rigidly in place while drilling with a press.

If you bugger up the job, then there people who sell stainless steel covers sized for Ikons

There's also a bunch of us with old Boge shocks lying around in the parts piles. You mean there's a market for this stuff. I proved the wife wrong once again. I'll keep hording.

much junk many spares.

hi, im pretty sure that the OE shrouds will " not " fit the ikon /koni shocks , well they didny fit on my koni shocks so i had some marine grade alloy shrouds spun up to look like the OE part.
