Re: Ikon shock rebuild
hi paul, im not sure where you live but was infomed that ikon ( australia) can rebuild them . was a bit of a write up on the web regarding doing the job yourself ! just checked the ikon web site and the parts are available from them if you choose to do it yourself.

I can just about see the Albury Ikon factory from my home, if I walk up the hill a bit.
The factory is quite small.

Good idea! I'll sneak my Ikons in for a rebuild as well.2valve wrote:hi ME109, would you mind sneaking in one night and grabbing some lighter springs for my Koni's ! thank you !
I used to weld and modify off road car race shocks for Ikon about nine years ago, before I knew they made shocks for airheads. I was able to get a reduced cost pair of Ikons because there was excessive chrome around the part number on the shock

sounds good to me , when you smuggle your konis in would you mind dropping mine in also, just make a dummy up work order and both of us will be cruising then in comfort !
Re: Ikon shock rebuild
My local shock Doc - http://www.hoeyracing.com - rebuilds them for $120- a pair , so I would imagine just about any suspension guy should be able to do the same, if you don't fancy doing the job yourself.

Airbear and Ducati Pete did a pair recently. Charlie said it was easy enough and was worth it.
When I find the seal kit I have somewhere, and work out how I'll compress the spring to open it up, I might even do mine.

I wouldn't know where to look, but Chuey has a good technique.SteveD wrote:

Charlie used Chuey's method.
We could ask Charlie but he's on Bear Island. If indeed it is still an island.
