What year model is the most desirable?, and whats a fair price to pay for a '76 Silver Smoke model in nice tidy condition? Cheers Jeff.

In the uk around £6-7k. You need to ensure that all the 'details' are correct, right colours for the instruments, handle bar clamps etc etc.

I think that the Daytona orange is the 'best' paint scheme. Various technical upgrades over the model life, doubtless people will pay most for the first model.

hi jeff , when i was looking for one the bm guy said to buy the 1975 on, bigger front axle /drilled rotors / better gearbox design/ hella swithgear / not sure on this one but was told the earlier model has a smaller alt ? so i found a 1975 model in daytona orange. have a really good look over it to make sure that it has all of the right parts as chasbmw said ! value wise i suppose its up to the purhaser's pocket and what the owner " would " like for it . another forum i visit stated ten thousand and up for them, as for the value mines insured for around twenty grand. i have a original broucher just in case youd like to check either way that the parts on it are correct,

I don't think there's a significant difference in usability or collectibility between the different years. Any unmolested R90S is a winner.

Color is a purely personal thing: I think the Daytona Orange is one of the best looking motorcycles ever made, while my wife thinks the Silver Smoke is gorgeous and finds the D.O. ugly.

Jeff, the US ones are made for riding on the wrong side of the road. :geek:
Mine is a US one, it's always on the wrong side of the road.
