quick run to Rylstone and Dunns Swamp

Post by Mal S7 »

Just back from a very enjoyable run to Rylstone via Sofala with Steve C.
We had to dodge storms, skies were black and crackling with lightning.
Just caught the edge of it and the crotch a got bit wet. (do not buy RJs wet weather pants!)

Met up with Steve's brothers and a bunch of fellas from Sydney and stayed, where else would you stay but the pub!

Hmmm a few cold beers and a healthy mixed grill. What else could you want in life?

Interesting bikes

and smartly dressed ... errr ... dogs

A good nights sleep would have been a good thing but by this morning it hardly mattered
Steve and I had an excellent run out to Dunns Swamp to clear the head

It's a top spot for camping. A shame it has been featured on the tele and is now a bit popular

It was great fun and the old bike ran like a train. I can't wait to get away again!

cheers

Great pictures and report!
I'm a sucker for other people's CBXs & other people's cute dogs. What's the story on the dog? Top box? Tank bag?

Thanks Rob,

The CBX is Steves brother's bike. Only 28000kms and absolute original cond.

The dog is named "honey" and rides a colourful trumpy rocket

One of the best rides for a while Mal. Everything was perfect (apart from your crotch). No sleep is standard when partying with my brothers. Still getting over my mixed grill.
I forgot to tell you that flock of sheep you scared coming out of Dunn Swamp nearly cleaned me up. Too late to brake, I just had time to power around them and the first one nearly kissed the tappet cover. Scary.
Talk soon

My wet weather trousers are yellow and get sold in the fishing section of my local hardware. They don't leak but they look like crap. ;)

Thanks for pics and write-up Mal. That mixed grill would take some courage I reckon.
The little dog's jacket looks great. Did you find out what was in the pocket? Prolly her stash.

Steve, I'm glad the electrons are flowing in the right direction again. Sorry you can't make it to the May run.

Similar architecture. This pub is at Captains Flat. Mal was there too!
