I have 2 sets of instrument (odo and tach) that need repair as beyond my expertise.
There is a fellow over on ADV Rider website, Terry Vrla (?), who has done great work at affordable prices for friend of mine.
Unfortunately my friend is away for some months and haven't been able to contact him re: contact info for Terry.
Tried search over on AdV but got nothing....anybody here got contact info for him?
Can't remember his "moniker" over on ADV, thought was "wires spokes" or maybe " wire worker"...if had that I think I could track him down....will post same request over on ADV website tomorrow...thanks, Bob

Re: Instrument repair info
His handle is "wirespokes" - one word.
He is also active on the r65.org forum, but you would have to join to contact him.
Might check with Ed Miller here (enigmaT120). I think he is active on R65.org still, and lives in Oregon!

Re: Instrument repair info
Thanks Rob, tracked him down just now and he's responded with his contact info.
Here's hoping he can do the work or else will be looking for another used one maybe in better shape and fixable.

I'm guessing you've seen these sites, one superbly done by Randy (dwerbil). I'll add them for completeness, as someone searching might find them under the title of the thread.

I've gotta say -- Terry does fantastic work. He did one for me, and even calibrated it so it is more accurate than ever. It was money well spent as far as I'm concerned.

Spoke to Terry today and all is good. He will at least take a look at the mechanical tach to see if fixable. The beautifully wound tiny, tiny, little spring for returning needle and dampening is shot but he thinks he can do it which is great

I didn't even see this until today. Hey, I even know where Terry lives! He got the rear cover off my R65 gearbox so we could replace that stupid $2 pawl spring. That was before I had my friend here at work make the tools for that job.Rob wrote:His handle is "wirespokes" - one word.
