/ 5 Tire Pressure

Hey guys. What psi do you use on your /5's? I went according to the manual it stated 27 psi front and 30 psi rear (cold readings) and the bike did not handle good - felt bouncy, kind of "squirly" underneath me in the turns. I pulled over and let some air out of the rear and felt somewhat better in these Dunlaps that the PO had put on. Perhaps an inaccurate pressure gauge... What pressure are you folks using?

I use 32 front and 34 rear in my Bridgestones.

Those figures from the manual are for the time period 1975 or so...tires are different, running tubeless tires rather than tube-type back in the day. Pressure should be more like what Tim said, 32 front and 34-36 rear, higher in the rear if running two-up or loaded.

Makes total sense. It totally felt out of sorts. Didn't think about the tubed vs tubeless thing since it was printed (as you can tell, this is my first older bike). Will try with the higher pressure of 32/34. Thanks...

32 Front may still be a bit low. I run 34 and the weaving has stopped dead!
You might even go to 35-36 for the rear... My /5 was gettting funky, and I had negelected to watch the air...checked it, filled it to the numbers above and presto! DONE! solid!

My metzler man tells me to run 38 front and back on my 90S

I follow the tire manufacturer's recommendation. Avon recommend's 29/36psi. I have run this for years and it works well.

Isn't that the max cold inflation pressure? I didn't think that was a recommended pressure but rather a not-to-exceed number.
