Dancing tach

Post by Abstruse1 »

The tach needle on my '76 R90S dances around a lot. What's usually the cause? A new cable didn't help.

I suppose that means tach innards or the drive assembly in the engine.

Suggestions? Thanx, guys.

If a cable replacement didn't help, then it's likely something inside. I'd suggest disconnecting the cable until you get a plan to have the instrument fixed. The more it dances, the higher the repair cost in the end.

Dallas to Austin for your tach repair. Respected BMW motorcycle instrument repairs.
