okay, makes sense since probably everyone now applies a little grease when installing new points to the shaft

Replacing felt pad on points base plate R80/7

Has anyone replaced the pad on the base plate that rides on the lobe of the cam next to the points? Dealers want almost $174 dollars for the plate but it does come with $20 points? It's riveted on so I thought I could drill out the rivet and replace the pad but I'm not sure of what to use or where t...

I'll check the diaphragms but it just doesn't have power no puke
I'll also have to look at doing a leak down and go through the remaining test.

Recently purchased a 1978 R80/7 . Needed a little TLC and have cleaned the bike up nicely. When going for a test ride It seems to have no power after 70mph with throttle wide open. Yeah, I'll admit it's been a few years since the brake bleed which was part of this winters bike maintenance. So wise advice taken.

Thanks for all the input. After you advice on the Volvo I looked up the switch on IPDusa.com a Volvo distributor in Portland, OR and found it for $5.50! ;)

I have a 1978 r100/7 and was checking the rear brake lights and found that the front brake lever when applied was not turning on the brake light. I checked the connections on the Master brake cylinder and found the connection weak so I replaced connectors. The brake light now works but I have to app...
