MORE Problems found!
Found this crack in the dog ear after I put the clutch stuff back in. The crack gets wider when the clutch is operated. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before the ear breaks off. Can this be welded? or maybe try quick steel epoxy.

There is a "bodge" I suppose that could be tried. Find a steel strap the width of the standoff ear and wrap around the curved end. Then in a couple of places, drill through the strap and tap into the aluminum for a screw to hold the strap in place. Seems like it would be enough to keep the curved end from opening up under load.

Aluminium alloy can be welded with a Mig or a Tig but you need someone who knows what he's doing. That ear takes quite a bit of pressure when the clutch is pulled...

Got her welded, Best 60 bucks I ever spent. Let's hope she holds. Gentleman that did it has been welding for 50 years.

It's all back together and clutch works like a charm.
