Not at all Doug.
Doesn't the motor rev easily without all that crap behind it!

Yes it does. Reminded me of my Kawasaki racebike that had Mikuni flat slides and velocity stacks.
I thought of K+N filters for my R100, but I always found CV carbs very difficult to deal with when intake air was dramatically increased. The flat slides I was able to dial in quite easily. They were spot on.
Those Mikunis were the bees knees. Bike pulled like a V8 out of corners, then screamed up to the rev limiter. The only thing that crippled the bike was the rider.
I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.

No, I don't think having the aircleaner off could cause your exteme lean condition.

i you have it tuned very close it will ping with the air filter removed when reving.
