R100RS fairing - any replicas?
Re: R100RS fairing - any replicas?
Nice looking fairings.
I'd still prefer the R100RS pattern though. That way I don't have to worry about unintended consequences such as engine overheating, and I know the weather protection is good.
Maybe I'll have to use my grotty R100RS fairing as a mould....

New to the forum, but returning BMW owner. (R75/5 1970, R75/7 1977, to K1 in 1989). Not new to making, fixing, or modifying stuff in metal or plastic. Don't need to be taught how to suck eggs, but if you've got a new way, I'm interested

R85/8 I agree that those fairings pictured look like they would fry the engine.
You may be coming to a premature conclusion about the stock fairings being unsuitable and unrepairable. I've had mine fixed and it worked great. Actually, it was the seat housing for the 3/4 seat that was fixed.

That fairing looks good. Any idea where to get one like that?

some French repros look like this one (no city light), but it seems to me that on this specific one, the head light glass is more angled than genuine ?

Pictures can fool you about such things, but it appeared that way to myself as well.Armaguidon13 wrote:some French repros look like this one (no city light), but it seems to me that on this specific one, the head light glass is more angled than genuine ?
