Hi, can anyone tell me the pros and cons of the oil pan extension with the cooling tubes?

Reduced ground clearance, haveing to modify the center stand and an extra gasket that might leak are the downsides.

On the upside it is a low tech way of cooling and adding oil. It also adds crankcase volume which is needed on the 900 and early 1000s.

Unless you are draging a chair or raceing it is not realy needed. Oils today are light years ahead of what our bikes where designed to run and can stand much higher temps than 15 years ago.

Well I have a cafe R90 with extensive mods (both frame and motor) that I already have a late model deeper pan on but it seems to be pretty hot running at times, timing and jetting are spot on (Mukini's and Omega) Cool factor is important but not as much keeping the oil cool!! If I could figure out how to post a pic.......
