Dougie: Paint is "Viponds Paint" from Melbourne a little family business, covers well but a good "rich strong" looking gold colour seems to be getting harder to find nowdays, and it is an enamel and rather slow drying to btw.

Bewdifull. You will have to post a vid of your technique and then you will get a truck load of tanks and just have to sit there all day every day listening to the radio and sniffing fumes and meditating your way to enlightenment.

You can book my tank in but go easy on the gold eh.

Gday fellas,

No not a beemer but I laid down using my ole faithful and never shaking dagger liner brush some hand painted gold metallic pinstriping today for this lovely restored triumph.

Very nice work, Grant. But I'll bet I could make that 'ole faithful and never shaking dagger liner brush' shake like a mo'fo. What's yer secret?

It's nice to know that the old skills are still being utilised in an era when sign-writing is largely computer aided. I hope you get the chance to pass on your skills.

Grant, what a fine looking job that is! I have striped my hacksaw and ball peen hammer and the handle to my floor jack. Reason for mentioning that is it makes me appreciate the practiced technique it takes to do that kind of job.

I'm much more attracted to that kind of striping, which I've heard called "coach lining" as opposed to the type where the stripes form complex patterns, etc.
