I seriously doubt that a /5 tank will fit the 1982 bike...others will know. Here's a thread on another vintage forum where someone looked into the tank from India.

Re: 1987 R100RT overhaul
An extension on the oil pick up and larger pan is typically done for some extra cooling. Since you're in Norway, it's not really needed.

Re: 1972 R60/5 Won’t Start
First thing I'd look into would be the starter relay. If the terminals of the relay get corroded, the relay won't latch and the starter won't turn. The relay usually resides along the left side of the top frame tube underneath the tank. Maybe an inch-square cube?? Try pulling the relay up and re-eng...

Re: 1972 R60/5 Won’t Start
What does the voltage across the battery terminals read when you push the start button? If the voltage drops well below 10v, your battery is toast regardless of what the tender was saying. As an emergency, you should be able to kick the bike to start. The kicker is just that, mostly for emergencies....

If the slide guide sits too tall, your slide won't be able to hit the bottom...you'll have trouble balancing the carbs.

When the bike loses power again, quickly (and safely) reach down and loosen the gas cap. You could be developing a vacuum in the tank under high demand.

Re: Introduction '72 R75/5 & '66 R60/2
I've started to review your video I found on youtube. One recommendation I have regards starting. I would not stand on the footpeg in order to reach the kicker. Over time, you will damage the support structure for the center stand which lets the rear tire touch the ground when on the stand. Currentl...

Re: Introduction '72 R75/5 & '66 R60/2
According to my notes, the plastic floats in my /7 weight 7 gr. Not really sure if the float swelling is an issue, but just mention it. Might be interesting to soak the float in fuel and compare measurements across the large diameter and see if it changes before and after. I've never figured out whe...

Re: Introduction '72 R75/5 & '66 R60/2
The plastic floats are a newish replacement for the older brass floats. The brass can stress crack which then lets fuel inside the float. Plastic floats have been around for maybe 5-8 years. There are two varieties based upon weight, one 11g and the other 7g. If the needle running down the center of...

Re: Is a Toaster tank possible on a R75/6
Fred - Welcome to the forum! Seems like you've answered your own questions. The Toaster tank probably won't fit around the master cylinder so it would be required to move to a handlebar setup. Many people seem to like that setup better anyway, but the issue is finding the right diameter of master cy...
